The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with
life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with
hope, strength and joy. A wish experience is frequently a source of
inspiration for children undergoing difficult medical treatments and a
positive force that helps them overcome their obstacles. A wish experience
is often more than a dream come true: It's the catalyst that rekindles their
belief in themselves and the promise of their future.
I have been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the last eight
months. It just breaks my heart to see children with terminal illnesses and
nothing makes me happier than to put a smile on those children's faces. I am
extremely excited that I will be able to grant at least one wish per month
during my reign as Miss Florida A.T.O.C. 2008 with the generous support of
the Miller Family Foundation. It is my wish that no terminally ill child
should ever succumb to their illness without having had their greatest dream
come true.
